Lantern Making Pt II

During October half term, Earby’s Event Group held their first free lantern making drop-in session at The Old Grammar School. Aimed at our younger residents, using more child friendly materials, including lots of recycled bottles and containers, the resulting lanterns are fantastic! Imaginative, colourful and varied.
The session was wonderfully supported by The Old Grammar School, and their volunteers who provided cake, juice, tea and coffee. The day was a resounding success, and the general feedback was that you want more!

Lantern Making Advert for Light Up Earby

So this Saturday, 5th November, from 10am until 4pm the Earby Events Group will be setting up at St. Peter’s Church, Riley Street. This weekends lantern making will be using willow donated by Earby Guerilla Gardens, along with all the materials needed for you to come along and make a more traditional style lantern. The recycled bottle and bag lantern supplies will again be available for younger crafters.
All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The day was a resounding success, and the general feedback was that you want more

There will be a final lantern making session on Saturday the 12th of November, before the big Christmas ‘Light Up Earby’ event on Sunday the 27th of November (more details to follow), this again will be held at St. Peter’s Church, where cake and refreshments will be available.
