Earby
The Best of Both
Earby is a small town and civil parish within the Borough of Pendle in Lancashire, England. It was historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, from 1909 to 1974. Earby now comprises part of the West Craven district of Lancashire.
Historically, Earby was little more than a scattering of farms and a few handloom weavers’ cottages. Evidence can be found indicating that there has been a settlement in the area as far back as the times of the Vikings, with the first documentation of Earby by name being in the Doomsday book (1067).
